Youth in Gaza are facing overwhelming uncertainty, danger, pain, loss, hunger, and even death — as their dreams for the future disappear.
Young girls bear heavy burdens in humanitarian crises. Not only are they denied an education and separated from loved ones — women and girls are more vulnerable to hunger, violence, and exploitation. Their struggles, their hopes, and their resilience aren’t unlike our own — the desire to study and learn, to plant roots and grow, and feel safe in our communities.
Each one of their stories reveal the strength and aspirations of youth in Gaza as they challenge adversity with courage and hope.
For girls like Malak, mass displacement doesn’t just mean that she cannot safely place her roots — it also means that securing food, water, and shelter is a constant struggle. Displaced youth and their families in Gaza are exposed to the elements with often nothing more than a nylon tent to protect them. Yet, they continue to seek better for their families and themselves.

Malak, 15-years-old, shares her experience being displaced in Gaza.
Youth in Gaza want nothing more than to return to school, to their homes, and to normalcy.
UNFPA’s volunteers are doing everything they can to bring dignity and stability to Gaza's youth by creating safe environments. They are promoting public health through awareness and support services, and ensuring educational access for children and their families, while fostering community resilience.

Our volunteers collaborate across multiple communities and with partners, focusing on areas where women and girls are severely impacted by the conflict, creating safe spaces, enhancing public health and protection, and providing education and life skills for young girls like Malak, children, and their families.
However, due to sweeping funding cuts, UNFPA must turn to generous donors like you to continue this vital work on behalf of vulnerable young people and children in Gaza and beyond. Will you bring hope for the future to Gaza’s youth with a gift today?
We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and hope for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas, and an end to the violence. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
Thank you for being there for Gaza women, girls, babies, frontline heroes, and youth.
