Friend,
Last week, a new GOP opponent jumped into the race to try to unseat Eric. That means there are now multiple MAGA-supporting Republicans vying for this seat in 2026.
Given how much MAGA Republicans in Congress have allowed Donald Trump to do – at the expense of our freedoms – it’s concerning that another Trump-loving challenger has already announced their bid this early in the race.
It signals their attempt at clearing any challenge to Donald Trump’s authoritarian efforts, and it means we have to focus even more on grassroots fundraising to counter the barrage of attacks coming our way.
I want to share more about why we must take this threat seriously, but first it’s important that we send a message of grassroots strength on day one to prove we’re here to stay. Please send in a donation $3 right away. [[link removed]]

We'll be sharing more about this new opponent soon, but here’s what you need to understand right now: national Republicans are working *aggressively* to stack Congress however they can, legally or otherwise.
And unlike most of Illinois, IL-17 is deep, deep purple. In fact, this is a district that Republicans carried statewide in 2022. That makes our grassroots outreach that much more critical, because a blue wall in the House could come down to every last vote in northwest Illinois.
This weekend, we’re facing our first monthly deadline since our new opponent jumped in. That means this deadline isn’t just our chance to fully fund a winning campaign, it's an opportunity to send a message about our grassroots strength:
If you’re able, please make a contribution of any amount to help defend IL-17. [[link removed]]
