Hello,
1 in 5 Americans are covered by Medicaid.
That’s thanks in part to the massive expansion Medicaid saw as part of the Affordable Care Act. And according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, that Medicaid expansion has led to increased access to care, better health outcomes for older and low-income Americans, and increased financial security and economic mobility for the millions of Americans.
And now, with millions of Americans out of work and the country facing a pandemic, the health care provided by Medicaid and Medicare is more vital than ever.
But without expanding access to Medicare and Medicaid, there are millions of Americans who could fall through the cracks -- our seniors, our neighbors, and those already hit the hardest by this pandemic.
And despite the obvious need for expanded health care right now, the Trump administration is begging the Supreme Court to overturn the Affordable Care Act, potentially destroying coverage for millions of Americans.
That’s just wrong.
The Trump administration shouldn’t get to undo the health care progress that’s been made over the last decade, especially when already-vulnerable Americans are now more exposed than ever.
That’s why we need your help.
Thank you,
The WDTO Team
