Soon, juvenile warblers will make their first trips south. As they do, they’ll have to contend with shrinking stopover habitats, urban light pollution, building collisions, extreme weather, and weakened protections across their migratory paths. This journey is more perilous than ever—especially for the 112 “Tipping Point” species, like the Kirtland’s Warbler, that have already lost over half their populations in just 50 years. These birds need dedicated research and quick conservation action to prevent further declines and try to reverse those that have already happened.

These birds are depending on people like you—people who care about them and are ready to help. So please, be the friend birds need today: Start your annual donation right away while your first gift could go twice as far for birds and their habitats.
National Wildlife Day: 7 days to go
The challenges birds face are steep. But we are not powerless. With more than a century of expertise under our wing and dedicated friends like you by our side, we can create a safer future for birds and people. And truth be told, we already are. Together, we’re protecting birds and the places they need through community-powered conservation and bold advocacy at every level. We’re also defending the laws that protect at-risk birds, promoting new legislation, and working to strengthen climate policies that reduce emissions and build habitat resilience.

This work—and all the critical work we do on behalf of birds—can only happen with the generous support of bird lovers like you. So please, can we count on you to start an annual donation today? For a limited time, your first gift could be matched, up to $30,000, to protect birds like the Kirtland’s Warbler year-round.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
