John,
school faculty are first responders in the fight against childhood
hunger.

They see hunger firsthand in classrooms and cafeterias, and they are
often the ones doing whatever they can to personally ensure children
get the food they need. That's what makes people like Sam King
so special - and so impactful.

Sam oversees the food production of all school cafeterias in the
Caroline County Public School District, which is a rural farm
community in Maryland. During the pandemic, the severe need in her
community became clear - along with what she and her team could
do to meet this need.

Hunger heroes like Sam deserve to be recognized for the role they
play in ending hunger for kids. That's why we put together a
digital photo album highlighting Sam, her crucial work to expand
access to nutritious food and how supporters like you make it all
possible.
