Hi John, DSCC Chair Kirsten Gillibrand here. I want to talk to you about special elections.
I won my first race to the Senate in a special election -- and my victory helped Democrats keep our Senate majority that year. Since then, Democrats have gone on to flip crucial seats through special elections in states like Georgia, Arizona, and even ruby-red Alabama -- and I’m laser-focused on making sure history repeats itself.
We're contesting two special elections in Ohio and Florida next year ‑‑ and these two seats are among a tiny handful that could decide the majority. Will you donate $5 to win races like these and take back the Senate? >>
Let me be crystal clear, John: Special elections give us a HUGE opportunity ‑‑ in multiple ways.
First, they put crucial seats back on the ballot YEARS before anyone expects. Second, they force Republicans to spread their money thin as they work overtime to defend even more seats than they planned for.
Put those two pieces together, and we've got a great chance to flip multiple seats and take back the Senate majority -- but only if we act quickly.
