John, it's Valerie Foushee.
We’ve seen constant attacks on jobs here in the Research Triangle since Donald Trump took office. Our vibrant region here in North Carolina is the research home to the leading agencies like the CDC, NIH, FDA, and EPA — and John, all of these organizations have faced massive layoffs this year.
The latest on the chopping block? The EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD).
Trump’s hand-picked EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, announced that he’s shutting down the ORD — so Congresswoman Deborah Ross and I are joining forces to protect our constituents and communities across the country.
Some of the work conducted by the ORD includes:
- Studying the health impacts of wildfire smoke inhalation,
- Researching PFAS toxicity and detection methods,
- Improving water treatment technologies,
and so much more.
John, Americans across the political spectrum care about clean air, clean water, and the health of their children and loved ones. Americans care about their environment, whether it’s their back yard or their favorite national park.
Developments and research to protect the future of our planet, which is what ORD does, is not partisan.
I’m working in lockstep with Congresswoman Ross to demand the immediate reversal of this decision. But with Trump going all out to undermine environmental protections and slash funding, we need to go ALL OUT to stop this disaster of an administration. That starts with taking back the House in 2026.
Please, John, will you split a donation of $10 or whatever you can spare between my campaign and Deborah Ross to help us hold our seats, support our vulnerable colleagues, and take back the House?
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately and be split between Valerie Foushee and Deborah Ross. |
We’ll never give up on fighting for a safer, cleaner, and sustainable future for our kids and grandkids. Our families are always worth fighting for.
Thank you,
Valerie Foushee
