The Trump administration does not have the right to operate in the shadows. Especially when carrying out their horrifying policies in our names. But they say sunlight is the best disinfectant.

That’s why Brittany Pettersen just conducted an oversight visit of Aurora’s ICE facility, alongside every other Democratic member of Colorado’s House delegation, to see for herself how this administration is treating immigrant detainees.

Disturbingly, many of the Members’ questions — including information on how many detainees actually held criminal convictions — went unanswered.

No amount of excuses can justify the Trump administration’s illegal, repeated violations of due process. That’s why it’s so important we shine a light on this injustice, so every American is aware of the cruelty and fear that Trump is sowing in our country.

Listen, Brittany knows that immigrant communities are terrified right now. That’s why she’s using every tool at her disposal to push back against Trump’s terror and keep fighting for our civil liberties.

But she can’t keep it up alone. More than ever before, we need Democratic leaders who are unafraid to call out Trump’s cruelty, not stay silent. That’s why we need to ask: If you’re able, will you chip in to help Brittany continue to show up and fight for our immigrant communities? [[link removed]]

For years, Brittany has been one of the loudest, most outspoken voices in Congress to defend Colorado’s immigrant communities — and no amount of Republican attacks will ever change that.

Thank you,
