John, after 90 years, it's clear: Social Security is far and away the most successful anti-poverty program in American history. It is a promise from one generation to another — you pay into Social Security with every paycheck, then benefit when you’re older. Now, Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress are deliberately weakening Social Security, and they aren’t even trying to hide it: MSNBC: Trump’s treasury secretary says he sees ‘a backdoor for privatizing Social Security’ Axios: Social Security offices lost an estimated 20% of staff this year, causing delays The Hill: Trump’s megabill could deplete Social Security’s trust funds faster Our seniors deserve better. We deserve better. Future generations deserve better. We can — and WILL — replace the anti-Social Security Republicans with leaders who will fight for working people of every age.
