New Local 1009 Contract Includes Win Members ‘Have Been Wanting for Years’
The members of UE Local 1009 settled a new three-year agreement with Hitachi Energy on July 23. The agreement includes a four percent wage increase each year and significant improvements to language on standby time and travel per diem. These are important wins for the members because many are transformer technicians who do servicing work across the country. The members also won a ten percent raise for all night shifts. New Local 696 Contract ‘Life-Changing’ for Membership
UE Local 696, whose members work at Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania, ratified a new three-year agreement on June 24. For the first time, members will be compensated based on a wage scale — a pay structure that the local has been seeking since its inception in 2021. The year one average wage increase will be over 12 percent, with all members receiving a minimum increase of six percent in the first year. Read more »
Local 269 Wins Raises, 401(k) Increases, and Attendance Bonuses
Both bargaining units of UE Local 269 ratified new contracts in May after negotiating with Erving Industries. The workers agreed to a five-year contract with an overall pay raise of two percent in the first year, two percent in the second year, and 2.5 percent in the third, fourth, and fifth years. The members in the paper-making part of the plant ratified on the first day of May and the water treatment plant members ratified the same contract at the end of May. Read more »
