When someone in Pennsylvania is enduring a behavioral health crisis, another person can use a civil process to lead them to involuntary treatment ([link removed]) .

In Allegheny County, that currently involves a so-called 302, or an involuntary hospitalization. But county officials are exploring a new way of giving involuntary care, focused on outpatient treatment ([link removed]) .

Public Source health reporter Venuri Siriwardane compiled a chart showing how the two systems differ, as well as resources to access if you or a loved one are in crisis ([link removed]) .
