 Governor and First Lady DeWine join community leaders in Ripley to break ground on the Freedom Landing Riverfront Revitalization Project.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine joined local leaders to break ground on three transformational riverfront projects along the Ohio River made possible through the Appalachian Community Grant Program.
 Governor and First Lady DeWine celebrate the future revitalization of Slim Sallee Park in Higginsport.
Projects in Ripley, Higginsport, and New Richmond will spur economic development in downtown districts, improve access to the river, and create vibrant spaces for recreation and tourism. Governor DeWine announced the projects in May 2024 as part of the Appalachian Community Grant Program's Wonderful Waterfronts Initiative.

“The Ohio River played a powerful role in shaping our state’s history, including the communities built along its banks. With these investments, the river will once again be a driver for new economic development,” said Governor DeWine. “These projects will improve the quality of life for people who call Ripley, Higginsport, and New Richmond home, as well as create new opportunities to attract businesses, families, and visitors.”

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Director Mary Mertz celebrated the grand opening of the new Mohican State Park Visitor Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"Ohio truly is the Heart of Adventure, and we want everyone to have a first-class experience when visiting one of our state parks," said Governor DeWine. "Mohican State Park has so much to offer, and the new visitor center serves as a perfect welcome point for guests to learn about the region's natural history."

Lt. Governor Jim Tressel visited Marion Matters, to learn about the workforce support they offer to Ohioans.

Governor DeWine announced that he has authorized the use of the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) to support 12 counties that were significantly impacted by severe storms and flooding during several weather events that occurred.
The State Disaster Relief Program is a reimbursement program that can be used in instances where storm damage amounts do not meet the threshold for federal assistance but do meet state program requirements. This program is intended to provide supplemental state assistance to local governments and eligible private non-profit organizations for costs associated with certain damage repairs, debris removal, and emergency protective measures.

Lt. Governor Tressel talked with students at the Ohio Export Internship Showcase, helping to build connections and show students a promising future in Ohio, where they can build the life they want without leaving the state.

Governor DeWine spoke at the second annual Accessible Ohio Conference & Expo. The conference brings together Ohioans with disabilities, family members, local community leaders, employers, and public and private venues and attractions to learn about and explore various accessibility solutions, resources, and best practices.

Lt. Governor Tressel visited the Tri Star Career Compact in Celina to learn about their efforts to prepare students for the workforce and the importance of career education.

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Pamela Boratyn announced that $12.7 million in grant funding will be awarded to support several small communities with transportation infrastructure needs.
The funding, awarded through ODOT’s Small City Program, will be invested in eight cities to support critical road infrastructure improvements that enhance safety, accessibility, and economic development. The Small City Program focuses on supporting roadway, safety, and pedestrian projects in cities with populations between 5,000 and 24,999 that are not part of a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
"Investing in local communities is critical in keeping Ohio's infrastructure strong and communities connected," said Governor DeWine. "These awards represent Ohio’s continued commitment to supporting the unique needs of our smaller communities across the state."
Lt. Governor Tressel visited MVP Dairy to learn about their state-of-the-art milking carousel and to highlight innovation in the agricultural industry in Celina.

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) Director Stephen D. Dackin announced a $7.1 million investment to enhance career-connected learning and career planning statewide through the Career Pathway Support Networks Request for Applications (RFA).
This two-year funding strategy aims to better prepare Ohio students for in-demand careers with advising, mentoring, exposure to various professions, and expanded career-technical education.
“This is another way we’re building a brighter future for Ohio,” said Governor DeWine. “These networks will equip schools across the state with the tools and partnerships they need, while giving students opportunities to pursue careers in high-wage, in-demand jobs.”
Districts and schools, Career-Technical Planning Districts (CTPD), and regional partners may apply for the funds, which will be distributed across Ohio’s seven JobsOhio regions using a formula that accounts for enrollment, service maintenance, and regional growth potential.
"It's never too early to start learning about career pathways, and we're creating the opportunity for more students to do just that through these networks," said Lt. Governor Tressel. "They're also giving students the support they need to understand these pathways and learn how to navigate them — an invaluable investment in their future."

Lt. Governor Tressel spoke during a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new South Stark Career Academy HVAC building.
The school was awarded more than $4.2 million through the Career Technical Construction Program to make this expansion.

Governor DeWine announced the appointment of Brandon S. Myers to the Montgomery County Municipal Court.
Myers, of Phillipsburg, will assume office on September 2, 2025 and will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge James Piergies, who has retired. He will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will run for election in November 2025.
