ADA Transition Plan

The City is looking for public feedback during the creation of the Transition Plan. Your feedback will help the City improve accessibility in public spaces, policies and programs. It will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. If you would like a paper copy of the survey, you can pick one up at City Hall. If you need another accommodation, please contact City Hall.

The deadline to submit the ADA Transition Plan public feedback survey is this Sunday, Aug. 17. Your feedback will help staff better understand the City's accessibility needs. The final Plan will be presented this fall.

*2025 FALL TREE CANOPY PROGRAM*

The 2025 FALL Tree Canopy Program is live!

The purpose of the *Mendota Heights Tree Canopy Program *is to provide a full-service purchasing and planting program to property owners within Mendota Heights at a subsidized rate to help grow the tree canopy in Mendota Heights, and to mitigate the loss of tree canopy due to Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). 

Property owners will receive:

*A site consultation with City Staff 

*Utility locate coordination prior to planting

*Transportation of your tree and all planting materials 

*Proper planting and mulching

*A high-quality, 10-gallon container tree, watering bag, tree protection, and mulch

WATCHING FOR AND REPORTING ILLICIT DISCHARGE

llicit discharges are any substance that enter the storm sewer system but are not composed entirely of stormwater, with some exceptions. Some examples of illicit discharges:


* Dewatering of sediment-laden water from construction sites
* Detergents or cleaning chemicals from vehicle and equipment washing
* Pet waste
* Oil or other vehicle fluids
* Sanitary sewer leaks or breaks
* Dumping or spilling of paint, household cleaners and chemicals, yard waste, fertilizer, oil and other hazardous materials in or that flow to the storm drain

These discharges are considered ‘illicit’ because public stormwater systems are not designed to accept anything but stormwater. Stormwater systems do not treat stormwater in the same way that sanitary sewage or waste water is treated. These wastes are treated at a wastewater treatment plant to achieve a legally specific water quality standard before being discharged to our surface waters.
