Hello,
Donald Trump has a message to states struggling with increased coronavirus cases: good luck, you’re on your own.
The federal government has announced it will withdraw support for over a dozen drive-thru COVID testing sites before the end of the month, leaving states like Texas -- where cases and hospitalizations are at record highs -- to fend for themselves.
Even John Cornyn, Texas’s senior Republican senator, condemned the move by saying that “now is not the time to retreat.” But Donald Trump’s mind is made up -- he’s waving the white flag, packing it in, and declaring his mission accomplished even as members of his own party plead for help.
In our view, a president who abandons his citizens is no president at all. What do you think of Trump leaving Americans high and dry during the worst of the crisis?
