You can count on me to fight for a healthcare system that works for all American.

Julie Oliver for Congress

Team, this isn't how this should work.

We're facing a crisis. ICUs in Texas are approaching capacity. Heroic frontline workers all over the country are wrapping themselves in garbage bags.

And while millions of Americans have lost their jobs — and with it their employer-based insurance — health insurance executives are seeing record profits and collecting millions in bonuses.

Now, one of the only remaining options that unemployed Americans have for coverage could soon disappear, too:

It doesn't have to be this way. You can count on me to fight for a healthcare system that works for all Americans because I don't accept money from pharmaceutical lobbyists, private insurance companies, or special interests like my opponent, Roger Williams — who has voted over 50 times to end the ACA without a replacement.

But I can't do this alone. That's why I'm asking you today: Will you make an end-of-quarter donation of $5 or more to help us reach the $30,000 left we need to raise by midnight on 6/30? My team relies overwhelmingly on donations to emails just like this one to keep our grassroots campaign on track.

Chip in $5

I'm choosing to fight because the healthcare crisis we're facing in this country is personal. It's why I decided to run for Congress to begin with.

My mom fought a chronic disease for the last 15 years of her life, and I cared for her every step of the way. My dad, a veteran, is fighting against his health problems today, and I'm making sure I'm there for him, too.

And my son, Brack, was born with a pre-existing heart condition — which means that insurance companies could once again discriminate against providing him insurance if Republicans have their way with destroying what remains of the Affordable Care Act.

Roger Williams has repeatedly put a purely partisan agenda before Texas families who should not be forced to choose between their health and financial security. It's more important than ever that we replace him with a representative who believes that every single American should have high-quality healthcare — no matter if they're rich or poor, young or old, or have pre-existing conditions or not.

Stand with me before our next FEC deadline — just three days away. Donate any amount to help us raise another $30,000 by Tuesday and help us show continued momentum in our race to flip this seat.

Thank you,

Julie
