My family was working class. I worked construction. I put in shifts at Arby’s.

So I know what it feels like when the rent is due, the car breaks down, and the grocery bill keeps going up. And I know that right now, millions of families across the United States are struggling to stay afloat under rising costs.

Child care is unaffordable. Housing is out of reach for too many. Prices keep rising, and while working families stretch every dollar, Republicans in Congress are handing tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

That’s not the America I believe in.

While Republicans protect the ultra-wealthy, Democrats are fighting to ease the burden on working families — and that fight starts with flipping the House.
