I want to tell you about something extraordinary happening right now in Texas.
Recently, Texas Democrats took the bold step of leaving their state to block an anti-democratic, Trump-backed redistricting scheme that would rig the 2026 midterm elections in Republicans’ favor.
Yes, you read that right:
Donald Trump has ordered Texas Republicans to redraw congressional maps so that they can lock in five new GOP seats — before even a single vote is cast.
To stop this blatant power grab, these brave lawmakers broke quorum. Now they’re facing $500 daily fines, vicious attack ads funded by Governor Abbott, and prolonged time away from their families and communities.
I know courage when I see it. And what these Democrats are doing takes real courage.
That’s why I’m asking you to join me in standing with them.
This is more than a Texas issue. If Republicans succeed here, they'll try it in every state — including Alabama.
We must draw the line right now.
