This morning, the Legislative Audit Commission, on which I serve, met to discuss and review the final topics for the auditor to review in 2025. I put forward a motion to approve a deputy legislative auditor for the Special Reviews Division, which was approved unanimously and will give the office more resources to address important projects, like the special review I’ve requested into Gopher Resources pollution.

In November 2024, Minnesota voters overwhelmingly approved a ballot question extending the Minnesota State Constitutional Amendment that dedicates lottery revenue to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. That ballot question also ensured that 1.5 percent of lottery proceeds will go to a new Community Grants Program. You can stay up to date on the Community Grants Program and sign up for email updates here.
