Why I'm running
I'm a 4th generation Texan, born in Dallas and raised by a single mom who was a public school teacher and sometimes worked two jobs to make ends meet. Thanks to my family and a strong support system of teachers, coaches, and the folks at our local YMCA, I earned a full-ride football scholarship to Baylor and went on to play in the NFL.

After that, I fulfilled another dream, earning my law degree and becoming a civil rights lawyer. Then, I went on to serve in Congress and represent the community that raised me, working to create opportunity for kids and families, protect affordable health care, and bring better-paying jobs to our state.

But I'm not done yet. Senate Republicans like John Cornyn are failing us. And his GOP primary opponent Ken Paxton is no different – he has already been impeached by the Texas House for corruption and abuse of power. And they're both bowing to the whims of one man, Donald Trump, instead of listening to the millions of people they serve. Texans deserve better and I'm ready to be a voice for ALL of us.

A movement to build on
Friends, we're starting this campaign with a huge grassroots team and a lead in the first two polls. We're not starting from scratch here – we're starting out in the lead.

If we're going to win this race, it's on us to capitalize on our momentum and keep our lead all the way through Election Day.
