The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Anybody else think the Epstein thing is pretty crazy?

Let’s recap.

Donald Trump runs for president and promises to release the Epstein files. His whole base gets super fired up about it.

Donald Trump wins the presidency, his Attorney General says the files are “sitting on her desk” on live television, and it looks like the release is coming any day now.

Donald Trump is briefed on the files and his own AG tells him he’s mentioned in them several times.

A birthday card from Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein is leaked, signed “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” providing more proof that Trump is deep in the files.

Trump’s base freaks out, turns on their leader (for the time being), and demands the files be released.

Trump spends his days and nights trying to distract the media from this massive scandal. But there’s no way this works, right?

Wrong. The media is letting this work.

Are they just taking the bait or is there something more sinister going on? We’re not saying there’s a big conspiracy here, but come on. The talking heads are discussing Trump changing the Coca-Cola formula instead of Trump being deeply involved with the biggest child sex trafficker of our generation? It just doesn’t make sense.

The only thing we can figure is that Trump scared every last major news outlet with his bogus lawsuits and empty threats. That’s pathetic.

Unlike the media, we will never fold to the orange moron sitting in the White House. We will always be here to push the important stories, sway the vulnerable voters, and do everything in our power to make sure we’re rid of Trump and his cult as soon as possible.

If this story stays alive through the August recess, Trump is f**ked. Help us make sure people are still talking about Epstein in September >>
