CNBC Names North Carolina the #1 State for Business (again!)
For the third time in the last four years, CNBC has recognized North Carolina as the top state in the country for business!
Here’s what Josh had to say:
"This confirms what we have known for a long time – that North Carolina is the best state in the country for business. Our people, state’s business climate, top research universities and excellent community college system, infrastructure, and high quality of life help both companies and workers thrive. I want to thank leaders like former Governor Roy Cooper and state legislators of both parties who have helped North Carolina create a welcoming climate. I am proud of the progress our state has made, and we are just getting started.”

Josh’s Visit to WNC
Josh is western NC’s #1 champion, and rebuilding the region’s tourism industry is key to achieving a full recovery after Hurricane Helene. Josh has visited WNC many times since taking office, including taking a longer trip this summer with the First Lady as part of their “Rediscover the Unforgettable” initiative.
One of their stops during this trip was to Hot Springs, where they had a great time visiting small businesses, including a local brewery!

They also toured Asheville’s River Arts District on e-bikes and enjoyed white water rafting on the Nantahala River!

Working to Pass a Full Budget
Republican legislative leaders have failed to pass a full budget for the current fiscal year, leaving teachers, law enforcement, and state employees in the lurch. As public school educators begin the new school year, they won’t even have a final decision on their salaries. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies won’t be fully equipped to recruit and retain the staff they need to serve North Carolinians, and our Medicaid program will face critical cuts that could affect essential health care services.
Josh held a press conference last month to highlight the urgent need for our GOP-controlled legislature to work together on a budget deal and get it passed.

Building the Nation’s Best Workforce
Josh enjoyed touring the Coca-Cola Consolidated facility in Charlotte, where he met with students in its apprenticeship program.
Students from Central Piedmont Community College have the opportunity to train for high-demand jobs in manufacturing, equipment repair, and logistics, setting them up for success in a competitive job market.

Partnerships like this one are helping build a best-in-the-nation workforce to make sure North Carolina remains the best state for business!
