FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aug 10, 2025
Hello Kitsap County residents,
We wanted to make sure you're aware of some utility work that WSDOT has announced on State Route 104 near Kingston.
What's happening
Travelers who use SR 104 approaching Kingston will want to plan additional travel time.
From 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday Monday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Sept. 25, utility crews will cut back vegetation and address trees of concern along the road.
What to expect
- Occasional one-way alternating travel between Hansville Road and Parcells Road.
- Traffic stops of up to 15 minutes during work hours.
The one-way alternating traffic will allow private utility crews to conduct vegetation management.
The utility work will start at milepost 23 near Parcells Road and move west to milepost 22 near Hansville Road.
Whenever near work zones please
- Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they're there for everyone’s safety.
- Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
- Stay Calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes.
Please note: This is a courtesy notice based on information provided by the Washington State Department of Transportation. We're passing this information along so our residents can be prepared for possible travel delays. For real-time updates about highway conditions, visit wsdot.wa.gov.
