So much of the rainforest has now been carved up that scientists say we're reaching the point of collapse. Yet governments are still accelerating the destruction.And so at this critical moment, the best thing we can do is to stand with the people who've protected the rainforest for centuries.

Indigenous communities don't just live in the Amazon, they are part of it. Their entire way of life is intimately tied to the forest's survival, and it's no accident that the most healthy parts of the Amazon are in their hands.But too often, their rights to the land are denied, overlooked, unrecognised in law.

What they need sounds bureaucratic -- land titles, spatial mapping, legal recognition -- but it's absolutely essential.They need help in order to put the Amazon back in their hands, locked away from governments and corporations that would strip it to the bones.

With your support, communities could buy vast areas of rainforest, secure legal deeds, fund land mapping to prove their ancestral rights -- and launch protests to stop the chainsaws before it's too late.
What happens to the Amazon will affect every single one of us. It needs urgent protection.No one will fight harder than the Indigenous communities who already call it home.

This is life or death for dozens of Indigenous communities. The rainforest is being burned and cleared. Rivers are being poisoned by oil spills, or choked with mercury from illegal mining -- and children are sick and dying. Indigenous leaders are being attacked and murdered for speaking up against the destruction.

But when the forest is legally in their hands, they can protect it.Indigenous communities need our support right now so they can secure vast swathes of the rainforest – and then get to work regenerating it.
If we raise enough we could:
E nable Indigenous Peoples to secure legal rights to their ancestral lands -- campaigning for land demarcation in Brazil and funding land purchases in Colombia and beyond; Restore up to 6,000 hectares of rainforest -- supporting Indigenous families to replant vast areas of critical habitat, and laying the groundwork to scale this model across the Amazon basin; Fight the far-right politics that is erasing the rights of Indigenous Peoples -- advocating with policymakers for change across the Amazon Basin, fighting injustice through media work, and pushing to expand Indigenous land rights in Brazil ahead of a global climate summit this year; Map Indigenous lands and expose threats to the forest -- funding detailed mapping of land conflicts, deforestation, and illegal mining, which could provide critical evidence to stop the Amazon's destruction; Set aside funding reserves for urgent campaigning in the Amazon -- fuelling rapid-response actions, legal defences, and mass mobilisations to fight for the rainforest and all the life it holds.
