At 4:00p (CST) on Sunday Afternoon, Texas Democrats broke quorum in the state legislature in order to stop Republicans from stealing the 2026 midterm elections. The gloves are off, and Texas Democrats are doing everything they can to fight for our democracy.

After Donald Trump demanded that Texas Republicans redraw their state maps to ensure Republicans would pick up 5 more congressional seats, Texas Democrats sprung into action to ensure that Trump doesn’t get his way.

These Texas Democrats are doing this at great personal sacrifice. In addition to being away from their family (and jobs) for as long as this may take, they are also being fined $500/day and will be lambasted with negative ads in their district funded by Governor Greg Abbott.

If they are going to be able to hold out long enough for this to count, they’re going to need our help.

Oregon Democrats need to show these fighters that we have their back! If you make a contribution to this email, it will be split between the Democratic Parties of Oregon and Texas in order to help the Texas Democrats fund this fight for all of our sake.

This is the fight to save democracy that Democrats have been warning about for ten years. It’s going to take all of us to ensure that this bold attempt to steal this republic does not go unchallenged.
