Resources + Readiness = Capacity

Campus Drug Prevention recently debuted the 2025 edition of the Prevention With Purpose web series, with videos featuring prominent members of the prevention field highlighting the steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework.

This week, Dave Closson, CEO and Founder of DJC Solutions, and Joan Masters, Project Director for Partners in Prevention, discuss Step Two: Building Capacity.

Capacity equals resources plus readiness. This step helps you to identify human resources, which includes people and volunteers as well as knowledge and skills, and structural resources, such as policies, laws, and funding. Readiness is a measure of the community’s willingness and motivation to address your identified prevention priority.
