Introduced a Bill to Protect Law Enforcement from Doxing

As threats against our law enforcement officers continue to rise, we must take new technological advances into account to ensure those who serve and protect can do so without fear of being doxed. That is why I introduced the Blue Shield Privacy Act of 2025, to modernize outdated privacy protections for law enforcement officers and their families. My bill expands the definition of ‘restricted personal information’ to include license plate numbers, biometric data, workplace and school addresses, and GPS coordinates. I will always fight to uphold law and order and stand with the men and women who put their lives on the line each day to keep our communities safe.

Introduced the Freedom to Compete Act

As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business and a small business owner for over 52 years, I have seen firsthand how red tape forces countless companies to either close their doors or merge with larger competitors. Small businesses drive U.S. innovation, but entrepreneurs without an army of lawyers and compliance teams cannot afford to compete in a high regulatory environment, and Main Street is paying the price. I introduced the Freedom to Compete Act to eliminate the burdensome regulations that reduce competition and stifle innovation. This critical bill will codify President Trump’s Executive Order titled Reducing Anti-Competitive Regulatory Barriers to level the playing field for America’s job creators as we usher in the Golden Age of America.

Introduced Legislation to Promote Small Business Innovation

This week, I introduced the Investing in National Next-Generation Opportunities for Venture Acceleration and Technological Excellence (INNOVATE) Act. This bill reauthorizes and improves the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs with the aim of advancing the development of critical technologies, American manufacturing, and small business growth. We must provide small businesses with the resources to develop new technologies, many of which are vital to our national security. Read my full press release here.

North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders Luncheon

It was an honor to speak at the North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders Luncheon. I appreciated the opportunity to answer questions and give an update on my work as Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business. Every day in Washington, I am focused on cutting regulations, unleashing American manufacturing, and putting money back into the pockets of the hardworking families and entrepreneurs of Main Street.
