Video by Pathways for Wildlife
Dear John,
At Wildlands Network, we talk a lot about connectivity — but what does that look like on the ground?
Sometimes it’s a surprise sighting in our research — like a coyote and a badger teaming up under the desert moon. Other times, it’s strategic: building wildlife crossings, planning trail systems that protect migration routes, or studying how large-scale solar might shape the future of animal movement.
This month, we’re bringing you a lineup of stories that reflect the many ways we’re restoring landscape connectivity across species, sectors, and state lines. Each one highlights a different piece of the puzzle, and together they show how diverse conservation strategies are uniting to rewild North America.
So, if you’ve ever wondered where wildlife crossings go, how recreation and conservation can co-exist, or what coyotes and badgers are digging for together… now’s the time to dive in. Check out the updates below to see connectivity in action.
For the wild,

PARTNERSHIPS
** Coyote-Badger Alliance
------------------------------------------------------------
That’s right, we filmed yet another rare coyote-badger partnership in our Northern New Mexico marten research project. That marks the 5th time we’ve documented one of these alliances!
