John,
Politicians in Washington have made one thing brutally clear: if you’re wealthy, well-connected, and part of the elite inner circle that protected Jeffrey Epstein, you get permanent tax cuts and political cover. But if you’re part of the poor and working class, you get cuts to healthcare, slashed food aid, and a government that keeps burying the truth.
Before fleeing Washington for summer recess, Congress passed its tax and budget bill, a massive gift to the billionaire class that locks in and expands Trump’s 2017 tax cuts. The richest 1% will pocket $117 billion in tax breaks next year alone.[1] Estate tax loopholes? Intact. Offshore tax havens? Untouched. They’re even attempting to gut IRS enforcement to let wealthy tax cheats off the hook.
While millionaires and billionaires cash in, Medicaid is being slashed and rural hospitals are being left to die.
At the center of it all is Donald Trump. His name appears in Epstein's Little Black Book.[2] He socialized with Epstein, praised him, and now dismisses a scandal that he previously promoted as a “hoax.” Just look at this headline:
But, even as the Department of Justice stonewalls the release of the Epstein files, the dam is cracking. Just before Congress went on August recess, Rep. Summer Lee’s motion to subpoena the Epstein files passed the House Oversight Subcommittee by an 8-2 vote with bipartisan support.[3] Other subpoenas, including one for Ghislaine Maxwell’s testimony, were also approved. That kind of vote doesn’t happen without real momentum. The public is demanding answers, and the pressure is working. That’s why GOP leadership bolted town before enforcing the subpoenas. We must act now to maintain this pressure, so the truth can finally come out.
Demand that Congress stop protecting billionaires who buy tax breaks, dodge accountability, and hide behind Epstein’s network of power. Enforce the subpoenas and release the Epstein files now.
Congress didn’t hesitate to slash funding for hospitals. They didn’t blink at kicking families off SNAP. They were fine letting health insurance premiums spike for working Americans. But ask them to release files that expose billionaires for sex trafficking, tax evasion, and corruption? Suddenly, it’s “complicated.” Suddenly, they run for recess.
They’re stalling because the rich elite who fund them are deep in those files. Leon Black paid Epstein $158 million for “tax planning” and saved $1.3 billion. Les Wexner handed Epstein full control over his fortune. Rupert Murdoch, whose media empire helped sell Trump’s tax scam, is in Epstein’s orbit. These are the authors of the rules that let people like Epstein thrive.
And let’s be clear, it’s a hell of a lot harder for billionaires to own private islands when they actually pay taxes. But instead of cracking down, Congress handed them permanent tax cuts, gutted IRS enforcement, and carved out loopholes just for them.
While families fight to afford healthcare and food, the wealthiest predators walk away richer and more protected. The same billionaires who joined Epstein on his private island now hoard wealth behind laws they helped write. The same tax dodges Epstein sold are now enshrined in federal law. And the same politicians who claim to want justice are silent when it’s time to name names.
It’s time to end the silence. Tell Congress to follow the money, hold the powerful accountable, and demand they stop protecting Epstein’s billionaire allies.
Together, we can stop this billionaire-led cover-up that’s happening in plain sight.
