Since day one, Maura has been focused on making housing more affordable — because she believes that everyone in Massachusetts deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to live.

It’s why she banned renter-paid broker’s fees — which goes into effect TODAY! Now, if you didn’t hire the broker, you don’t have to pay them, saving renters thousands of dollars every single time they move. 

It’s why Maura announced the creation of 1,245 new affordable rental units across Massachusetts this week. 

And it’s why we celebrated the first new homes being built thanks to the Momentum Fund, a public-private financing partnership to build new homes across the state. 

Whether it’s a formerly homeless individual in Boston, a senior in Topsfield, or a working family in Easthampton, these homes will change lives. And it’s just the beginning. 

Lowering the cost of housing is a big challenge, but it’s one that’s worth taking on.
