Congressman Sessions hosts the 2025 Central Texas Coordinated School Safety Meeting

Last Friday, I convened my second Coordinated School Safety Meeting at Texas State Technical College. Leaders from across Central Texas joined the discussion, including law enforcement officials, school district superintendents, and County Judges from McLennan, Limestone, Falls, Milam, Freestone, Bosque, and Hill Counties. Ensuring that our students and educators are safe and secure is a responsibility that falls to us all. Strengthening the lines of communication between school administrators and law enforcement is critical, and I remain actively engaged in addressing safety threats with coordinated responses.

As the summer begins to come to a close, I want to thank our outstanding Summer 2025 cohort of Congressional Interns who have served in my office. These bright young people represent colleges and universities across Texas, including Baylor, SFA, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas, bringing with them fresh perspectives and an eagerness to serve. It has been a pleasure having them on our team and helping these students develop in preparedness for whatever the future holds.

It was a true honor to speak at last week’s naturalization ceremony in Waco, Texas. As these men and women joined the fabric of our great nation, I reminded them that citizenship is a privilege and a responsibility. I am proud of each of these new American citizens and look forward to seeing their contributions to our communities.
