Dear John,
Here's what’s happening in your party and why it matters.
🍁 By-Election in Alberta: The Elites vs. the
People
The Battle River–Crowfoot by-election is underway—and it’s become a clear line in the sand between Laurentian elites and grassroots Albertans who are sick of being dictated to from Ottawa.
Pierre Poilievre parachuted himself into this riding, hoping nobody would notice. But people do notice—and they don’t like it. Across rural Alberta, talk of separation is growing, and so is the sense that no one in power is listening. Albertans are fed up with being ruled by globalist elites who don’t share their values or priorities.
That’s why Jonathan Bridges is running. Not as a professional politician—but as a working father of five, with a job, a mortgage, and a backbone.
🗳️ Maxime Bernier has already joined Jonathan on the ground once—and he’ll be back again on August 11 & 12 to attend campaign events and meet the people of Battle River–Crowfoot in person.
📣 Join us if you’re nearby! Bring a friend, shake Max’s hand, and show Ottawa we’re not backing down.
🎤 Jonathan Bridges Speaks Up – Debate Recap
Jonathan recently took the stage at
the Western Standard
all-candidates debate, part
of a by-election that has seen over 200 registered
candidates! (No, that’s not a
typo.)
Even in a rushed, crowded setup, Jonathan
represented our movement with heart and clarity. He made it unmistakable that he’s
not a career politician, but an everyday Canadian
stepping up to give voters a
genuine choice.

🚫 Pierre’s Power Grab: The Truth About the Longest
Ballot
The Longest Ballot movement started as a protest—an attempt to highlight how disconnected and dysfunctional our political system has become. And to be honest, they’re not wrong to feel frustrated. Millions of Canadians don’t trust their politicians, and they don’t feel represented by the parties in power.
We’re sympathetic to
that frustration. We agree
that the system is broken and stacked against everyday
people. But let’s be
clear:
🟥 We do not support the Longest Ballot movement
itself.
Turning elections into a circus with
hundreds of fake candidates only creates confusion and undermines
legitimate alternatives like the PPC. What’s truly telling is how
Pierre Poilievre reacted.
When the movement targeted a Liberal stronghold in the Toronto–St. Paul’s by-election, he said nothing. In fact, his party benefited from it.
But now that the Longest Ballot protest is disrupting his own coronation in Battle River–Crowfoot, he’s suddenly outraged. And worse—he’s using it as an excuse to attack smaller parties and independents.
His proposed “reforms”
would:
🔹 Raise nomination thresholds to as many as
750 signatures
🔹 Ban voters from supporting more than one
candidate
🔹 Restrict official agents to managing only
one campaign
These changes wouldn’t stop fake candidates. They’d stop real ones—like us.
This isn’t leadership. It’s opportunism. It’s Pierre protecting the duopoly that has failed this country for decades.
We’ve responded with a
formal letter to the Minister opposing these cynical proposals and
defending the democratic rights of all Canadians.

We don’t support ballot-clogging stunts. But we absolutely oppose rewriting the rules to silence legitimate voices.
The PPC is here to give Canadians a real choice—and we won’t be pushed off the ballot.
