July has been a whirlwind, so I wanted to send one last note before the end-of-month deadline hits tonight. I hope you can read it the whole way through, but if you’re short on time, you can chip in to keep me fighting for you in Congress here.

Here’s the hard truth: national Republicans are doubling down on flipping CA‑49 red, and they are already spending money on attack ads against me. My opponent was the top‑raising GOP challenger in the country in the first quarter, signaling we are one of the GOP’s highest-stakes targets.

And let’s remember just some of what happened this month: Trump signed the “Big Ugly Bill” into law on July 4, and it is anything but. It slashes Medicaid and SNAP for millions, locks in tax breaks for the wealthy, and hikes the national debt by trillions over the next decade.

Amidst it all? Late-night comedians like Stephen Colbert, newspapers, and independent citizens are being targeted by the Trump administration for simply and rightfully criticizing his actions.

I’ve walked the halls of Congress fighting these transfers of wealth and power. Voting no on that Big Ugly Bill, demanding oversight on abuses of executive control, and standing with veterans, working families, and people just trying to get by.

But right now, my biggest fight is here at home in CA‑49.

Because I refuse to take a dime of corporate PAC money, I rely on grassroots supporters like you to stay in this fight. This campaign is rooted in democracy, decency, and doing right by the people of California’s 49th District. With your help, we’ll keep it that way.
