Trump’s “one-two punch” targeting immigration courts will test Texas detention centers, experts warn - President Trump has advanced his immigration agenda by eliminating bond hearings for detained migrants and firing over 100 immigration judges — moves that critics say undermine legal proceedings and strain an already overburdened system. With migrants now unable to challenge their detention and fewer judges to hear cases, experts warn of prolonged detentions and increased pressure on remaining judges to fast-track deportations. Despite plans to build new detention centers and hire more judges, many believe these efforts won’t be enough to manage the four million-case backlog or to ensure due process rights under the Constituion.

Rep. Goldman Introduces the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act to Protect Low-Cost Home Energy - Congressman Craig Goldman (R-TX) has introduced the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act to repeal three Inflation Reduction Act provisions that limit consumer choice and burden taxpayers with over $5.7 billion in spending. The bill targets federal funding for electric appliance rebates, contractor training, and energy code adoption, which critics say effectively push gas appliances out of the market. Goldman’s legislation aims to protect homeowners' freedom to choose how they power their homes while eliminating costly green energy mandates.
