What our founder had to say

John, we face our end-of-month deadline at midnight and want to make sure you don’t miss the chance to hear from our founder, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, on why hitting our $7,000 goal is so important right now.

TL;DR The GOP is already flooding special interest money into key districts to squash competitors before their 2026 campaigns get off the ground. Here’s what your support helps us elect Democrats to fight back in the House against:
  • GOP cuts to Medicaid and SNAP so they can hand billions to the ultra-wealthy.

  • Slashed funding for the NIH in the middle of a public health crisis.

  • Energy assistance gutted, while Big Oil CEOs rake in record profits.

  • A shady Epstein file cover-up with zero accountability.

  • A GOP House majority abusing power, bowing down to this administration, ignoring their duties to the people, and protecting their donors.
This isn’t politics — it’s corruption. It’s cruelty. And it’s exactly why we need to take the House back. Will you rush a donation right now to help us hit our deadline?

AWP

John, I want to tell you about a candidate we backed last cycle — a first-timer running in a rural swing district, up against a GOP incumbent with a deep war chest backed by special interests. She had heart, grit, a deep love for her community — but not a lot of resources.

She told my team, “I’m not sure I’ll win, but I know I have to try.”

We backed her. She came close, but lost by less than 2%.

That candidate has stayed with me. Not because she lost — but because she almost didn’t. And with just a little more support, we could have helped change everything. And I know for a fact that having a fighter like her in Congress would’ve only benefited the uphill battle we face against this cruel and authoritarian GOP Trifecta in D.C.

That’s what AWP is fighting for: to lift up candidates with conviction and courage who don’t have the benefit of billionaire donors or national headlines — but do have what it takes to flip a seat and take back the House majority to save our democracy.

Right now, we’re gearing up for this cycle by investing early in some of the most critical swing races in PA and around the country — races where the GOP has already dumped millions to buy the narrative and rig the game.

And frankly? The only reason GOP candidates have that kind of early money is that they have abandoned working families in exchange for billionaires. They’re gutting food assistance. Blocking childcare. Slashing healthcare access. All to fund tax cuts for billionaires and keep their donors happy.

Because they know what we know — if they lose the House, they lose their unchecked power. They’ll have to answer to the people for what they’ve done. That’s what this fight is about.

If we want a government that works for real people — not lobbyists, not corporations, not billionaires, not extremists — we have to take back the House. That starts right now. And it starts with you.

We’re $7,000 short of what we need to take our next steps in funding our slate of frontline candidates before the end of the month. Can I count on you to chip in right now?
  FLIP THE HOUSE
Thank you for never giving up the fight.

— Mary Gay

The contemporary political landscape is filled with progressive women who are running for elected office up and down the ballot, who possess a true vision of equality for this country's future.
