John, it's Hank Johnson, and this time, I'll spare you my "Dreamsicle" cover 🎸 and get straight to the point:

Speaker Mike Johnson just sent Congress home early to avoid releasing the Epstein files.

You heard that right, John. In an effort to protect their political allies and President Trump, Republicans are hiding information that they promised to release to the American people.

Trump campaigned on releasing the files related to the investigation of the predator (and his own longtime friend) Jeffrey Epstein, but in the days leading up to the release, MAGA suddenly walked back this promise—leaving Americans on both sides of the aisle feeling betrayed.

That's why I co-sponsored a bipartisan bill to compel the Department of Justice to release the evidence surrounding the Epstein investigation. But instead of allowing House Republicans to vote on the proposal (many of whom were in favor), Speaker Johnson concluded voting a day earlier than scheduled. 

John, MAGA has turned its back on the American people, but they'll have to face the music sooner or later.

As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I'm fighting everyday to make sure our government remains accountable to the people. While the House is in recess, I'll need your help to spread the word.
