Friend, the Everglades Detention Center must be shut down immediately.
Cruelly labeled “Alligator Alcatraz”, this detention center — the first outpost in Trump’s gulag — was thrown together with no regard for safety, basic health standards, or the well-being of the people detained inside.
The site is not a permanent structure — it has no running water and limited access to food, showers, and medication. Immigrants imprisoned there have reported unsanitary conditions, extreme isolation, and life-threatening dangers like mosquito-borne illnesses and hurricane flooding. No human being should be subjected to these conditions.
As quickly as Florida stood up this human rights disaster, it must be shut down.
That’s why we’re calling on Congress to denounce the Everglades Camp, pass the No Cages in the Everglades Act to defund it, and oppose the expansion of Trump’s gulag across the country. ([link removed])

And it’s being paid for with your tax dollars, friend. The so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” gave ICE a record $170 billion — making it the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in U.S. history. That includes $13.5 billion in funding for states like Florida to be reimbursed when they spend taxpayer money to do immigration enforcement.
This camp may be just the first of many more — which is why we must be loud and clear: we will not accept this. Without immediate action from Congress, we could see this model of cruelty spread nationwide.
Join us by sending a message to members of Congress today — we’ve already drafted the email for you — all you have to do is hit send. ([link removed])
