For 60 years, Medicaid and Medicare have been a lifeline for millions of Oregonians, providing access to lifesaving health care. The creation of these programs is intertwined with the Civil Rights Movement, which fought for the desegregation of and universal access to health care. The Medicare and Medicaid Act, signed on July 30, 1965, required hospitals to desegregate and marked a landmark expansion of health care access.

Today, our part in that march for freedom includes fighting to protect Medicaid and Medicare from the destructive cuts passed by Republicans in Trump’s budget bill. Donate to help us defeat Trump's MAGA allies here in Oregon.
