Hey, John, I was about to log off for the night, but given that our first big fundraising deadline of this race is tomorrow, I wanted to send you a quick note first.

I'm feeling really good about this race so far. Tens of thousands of people have joined my grassroots team, polls show me with a slim lead, and pundits from the Cook Political Report and The Hill have upgraded our chances of winning.

The only thing I'm worried about is having the money and resources we need to win. If there's one thing I learned last year, it's that Senate races are expensive – especially in Texas. And my Republican opponents have already been at it for months raising millions of dollars, and I'm just getting started.

I need to raise $200K by the end of the month just to start to close the gap – but right now, I'm falling $67,815 short. So before you log off for the night, I am humbly asking, will you please chip in $5, or anything at all, to help me win this race and bring real leadership to Texas?

Anything you can spare is truly appreciated. Thank you and good night.

Colin
