Dear John,
Donald Trump’s plan to privatize the United States Postal Service is no secret. Now, he’s closer than ever to pulling it off with your senators’ help.
Trump’s USPS board nominees are corporate loyalists, campaign donors, and privatization cheerleaders. And unless we stop them, your mail service, affordable, accessible, and universal, is at risk.
Anthony Lomangino and John LaValle have no experience in public postal service, yet Trump wants to hand them power over the most essential piece of American infrastructure. Lomangino is literally a pro-Trump Super PAC donor, while LaValle is a Republican party operative with zero postal credentials to speak of.
The USPS was never meant to turn a profit. Its mission is service, delivery to every address, not just the ones that make money. Trump’s appointees reject that mission. Their only goal is to privatize it, break it, and sell it off. And once they’re confirmed, we may not get another chance to stop this.
Tell your Senators to reject Trump’s USPS nominees and protect our postal system before it’s too late.
This is a hostile takeover that will gut the USPS, jack up prices, and fire thousands of union workers, especially from low-income, Black, and Indigenous communities. It's a move to convert a beloved public good into a cash machine for Trump cronies and corporations.
If we don’t act, rural post offices will shut down, prescription deliveries will be disrupted, and small business shipping costs will spike. Even voter access will be slashed as mail ballot delivery slows or stalls fully. That means we lose jobs, services, and election security just so Trump’s donors can rake in profit?
The conflict of interest is staggering. Rejecting these nominees is a test of whether the Senate will stand for the people or kneel to MAGA billionaires. These are unfit, dangerous nominations, and they must go down.
Tell the Senate to block Trump’s USPS nominees and keep the post office public and protected.
Let’s defend service, not profit. Let’s fight for every address.
