Join us tomorrow, Thursday, July 31 @ 11am in Foley Square to demand that Governor Hochul and state lawmakers tax the ultra-wealthy and pass the New York for All Act.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of Medicaid, a program that has provided health coverage and peace of mind to millions of New Yorkers since 1965. Nearly 7 million New Yorkers rely on Medicaid today – from kids to seniors to people living with disabilities.

Instead of celebrating its legacy, we’re being forced to defend it. Congress recently passed a devastating federal budget bill, H.R. 1, which guts Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. It shifts coverage costs to states and counties, slashes essential mental health and home care services, and creates red tape designed to kick people off coverage. It threatens our entire care infrastructure.

In schools, it means more kids are less likely to get the care they need to stay healthy, focus in class, and imagine futures full of possibility. Black, brown, immigrant, and lower-income communities will be hit hardest. And we know that these are the same communities that already face barriers to care, economic justice, and basic dignity. This policy is a direct threat to our very well-being.

Whether or not you can join us in Foley Square, you can still take action now!

Email Governor Hochul and your state lawmakers to demand they protect Medicaid, tax the ultra-wealthy, and pass the New York for All Act.

And please spread the word by having a conversation with someone in your life about what’s at stake with Medicaid, and the kind of New York you want to live in.

Thank you for standing with us!
