Since the shooting stopped, the scale of the massacre in Syria has emerged: 3,300 dead – Christians and other religious minorities butchered. Such evil.

Islamists stormed homes, brutally massacring entire families – including Christian pastor Khalid Mezher and 20 of his relatives. They were among the over 180 unarmed civilians "summarily executed."

Just days before last week's violence, leaflets were posted on church doors in Syrian cities inciting jihad against Christians – calling for beheadings, the rape of Christian women, and the looting of Christian homes. It's dire.

Just days ago, we filed 13 written submissions at the U.N. Human Rights Council on Christian persecution and human rights violations in the Middle East and Africa. These filings hold offending countries accountable for leaving Christians vulnerable. We'll be returning to the U.N. in just days to continue our advocacy for dying Christians.
