john—In a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip in just $5 before our critical end-of-month fundraising deadline, but first I want to let you know why I’m counting on your support.

From the moment he became House Speaker, Mike Johnson has shown us exactly what kind of "leader" he is.

He's shown no independence, and followed Trump’s far-right marching orders to the letter, using shady-tactics and disregarding the very voters who are directly impacted by his policies. It's clear that his loyalties lie with the president—and not with the American people.

He's proudly supported Trump's Big, Ugly Bill to give more handouts to the wealthy by slashing funding for Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP. He's also jammed through a package that cuts funding for public broadcasting, affordable housing, and clean energy, undoing the investments this Congress already promised just months ago.

But john, the good news is that Republicans only have a three-seat majority. We can—and must—retire Mike Johnson from the speakership next year. But to do it, we need to keep critical swing districts blue, including this one.

Winning in a purple district like ours is always a challenge. We have to stay one step ahead at every moment of this campaign, because we never know what Republicans will throw our way and we cannot afford to be caught flat-footed.

Plainly: Keeping WA-08 blue and reclaiming a Democratic majority means we really can’t afford to miss any fundraising goals.
