BIG UPDATE, Friend:

Texas Republicans just released their proposed maps to gerrymander Texas’s congressional districts ahead of the midterms – and they’re as bad as we thought.

Friend, under these maps:

• Two South Texas districts held by Democrats would become Trump +10 seats

• Three Democratic districts — in DFW, Houston, and Austin/San Antonio — would essentially be ELIMINATED

• FIVE new districts that Trump won by by double digits would be drawn for Republicans to pick up

Here’s the gist: if these gerrymandered maps are passed, Republicans could pick up FIVE new congressional seats, potentially blocking Democrats from taking back the House.

We MUST fight this. Donald Trump is trying to use Texas’s congressional maps to rig the midterms and prevent a check on his agenda. And even though it would hurt Texans, Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans are helping him do it.

Me and my colleagues in the House and the Legislature are going to fight this – in the courts, in Congress, and at the ballot box. But we need your help.
