It takes tens of millions of dollars to run a winning campaign in California. We need these resources to buy TV ads, pay staff, and travel across the state meeting voters in their communities.
While a lot of this spending happens in the last few months before the election, the fundraising is a year-round endeavor, because we can’t raise millions of dollars overnight.
For a campaign like this one that rejects donations from corporations, lobbyists, and executives at Big Pharma, Big Oil, and Big Banks, we have to work even harder to secure the resources we need to win.
That’s why we set goals every month, even a year before the election, to keep us on track.
Like every campaign I’ve run before, I’m counting on grassroots donations to help me get into office, so I can fight like hell for working families.
