We just celebrated Portland Pride, John, and it reminded me of exactly what I’m fighting to protect:

The right to live authentically — free from hatred or government interference.

Coming out in my early twenties wasn’t easy, but I learned through that journey that being out became a personal responsibility, a way to rise above intolerance, a way to change the world around me.
