This week marks the first anniversary of Iowa Republicans’ restrictive six-week abortion ban. It marks a loss of rights for women in our state, forcing those in need of reproductive healthcare to seek it elsewhere, if they can find it at all.

Trump’s indiscriminate immigration raids are hurting farmers across the nation. Rounding up and deporting hard workers with no serious criminal history only hurts our agricultural sector, leading to farmers who can’t find help to harvest their crops and produce becoming more expensive in our supermarkets.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of Iowa’s extreme six-week abortion ban. It marks a reduction in the rights of Iowan women, and a return to a darker, less safe time for women’s healthcare.

Our Republican representatives celebrate their control over women’s bodies by claiming their restrictions are pro-life, when they’re really just forcing women to travel long distances for care in other states. That’s if they’re able to afford the trip at all. Unfortunately for Iowa families, Republicans’ concern for our children seems to evaporate when it comes to taking food from their tables by cutting SNAP, or stripping them of their healthcare by their cuts to Medicaid.

Iowa Democrats will never stop fighting to restore women’s rights in our state. Help us by calling your representatives. Let them know what you think about their extreme abortion ban that the majority of Iowans don’t support. You can also join upcoming protests, rallies, and events.
