  • APHA’s Dr. Georges Benjamin joined for an insightful discussion on where we go from here to improve the public’s health, given the massive cuts to health care in Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.
  • APHA, alongside several leading organizations, sued RFK Jr. to roll back COVID-19 vaccine recommendation changes. The lawsuit was covered in leading media outlets, including , , and .

Public health is under threat from program cuts, misinformation and attacks on science — putting decades of progress at risk.

 

At APHA, we’re speaking out, filing lawsuits and taking action to defend evidence-based policies and protect the systems that keep people healthy. But we can’t do it alone.

Legislative & Legal Actions

  • APHA joined American Academy of Pediatrics and others in filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts to defend vaccine policy, and to put an end to the Secretary’s assault on science, public health and evidence-based medicine.
  • Our other lawsuits against the administration continue.
  • APHA, along with 67 leading deans and scholars in public health and health law, filed an in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in Monte Rose Jr., et al. v. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., et al. The brief urges the court to affirm a lower court ruling that the federal government violated the law by allowing Indiana to continue to restrict Medicaid eligibility and coverage of services.
  • We're calling on people to to Tell EPA not to roll back critical rules to protect the public from power plant pollution.
  • As your federal representatives return home, use our to tell them to support public health. We'll share more guidance shortly.
