Hi friend,

Every person who runs for public office throws their hat in the ring for a reason.

I ran because after spending two decades keeping my neighbors safe ahead of severe weather, I wanted to continue being their trusted communicator. I wanted to keep my neighbors ahead of what could hurt them by fighting to make our communities more healthy, safe, and sustainable for generations to come.

Well, this month we found out why too many Republicans in Washington decided to run: to betray our friends and neighbors, making the single largest cut to healthcare and food assistance in our history, so that their richest billionaire donors could get even more tax cuts.

Think about that. Nursing homes are closing, children are going hungry, sick people are being priced out of care… and they want to claim they’re representing you.

By now we’re all used to extremist Republicans choosing corporations over people, but I’ll be honest, this is a betrayal on a whole other level. Leaders should be bringing us together and protecting us, not leaving us to fend in the wild.

We have to stand up NOW against the war on our livelihoods. Chip in $3 today ahead of our end-of-month fundraising deadline to help seal the Midwest and get a real worker-first congress.

Unfortunately, we won’t flip the House without a fight. We learned this month that top Republican Super PACs will be spending tens of millions of dollars across swing districts to try and gaslight people into ignoring the damage being wreaked by the MAGA majority.

The risk here is imminent. We need to start pushing back before they can get any traction and send a message that our side has the upper hand.

I hope you can help me send that message, team. If you’re with me, please chip in $3 ahead of our end-of-month fundraising deadline.

Thank you,

-Eric
