Children Are Starving in Gaza. We Must Act.

What is happening in Gaza?

• Since May, over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to reach food, mostly near aid sites, according to the U.N. human rights office.
• Nearly 90% of Gaza has been displaced, and almost all essential infrastructure has been destroyed by Israeli bombing.
• For 80 days from March to May, Gaza received no aid, driving people to the brink of famine, and despite some aid arriving since, it remains far too little.
• Nearly 100,000 women and children face severe acute malnutrition, while one in three people in Gaza go days without food, underscoring the urgent need for action.

Independent United Nations experts have warned that this deliberate denial of aid amounts to the use of starvation as a weapon of war and a form of collective punishment, clear violations of international law and potential war crimes.

Hunger is not just a consequence of war in Gaza; it is a weapon. More than 2 million Palestinians are trapped under siege, bombed relentlessly, and cut off from food, water, medicine, and fuel. Half of Gaza’s population are children, and they have endured nearly two years of food and medical deprivation. In recent months, the crisis has grown even more dire as the Israeli government continues to block life-saving aid from entering.

A ceasefire is urgently needed to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and create space for lasting peace. The international community must act now to halt the violence and support efforts that protect lives and build a sustainable future.

• Call your members of Congress and urge them to uphold U.S. and international humanitarian law.
• Urge Congressional members to recognize the famine in Gaza and take immediate action to help end it.
• Support legislation demanding unfettered humanitarian access and a permanent ceasefire to prevent any further loss of life.

We cannot allow Gaza to continue to starve. Act now and demand Congress end the blockade.
