Hey, we’re facing a big end-of-month fundraising deadline on Thursday night, and we need some help from our top supporters to catch up to our goal. Can you pitch in a few dollars and help us get there?

I know emails like this can be annoying, and I would never expect anyone to donate to every single one we send out. But if it’s been a while since you chipped in, let me explain really quickly why I’m asking:

KS-03 is one of the most competitive districts in the entire country, and winning here takes an enormous amount of resources. In the last election, National Republicans and right-wing super PACs threw everything they had at us: Personal attacks, ugly smears, disinformation campaigns, you name it. But thanks to the incredible generosity of this team, we didn’t get overwhelmed. We set the record straight. And we won.

I want to let you in on a secret: The vast majority of House races across the country aren’t competitive at all. The typical race for Congress is approximately a 30-point blowout. But KS-03 won’t be one of them.

Like always, the outcome of next year’s election in this district won’t be determined months in advance. It will come down to how hard we out-work and out-hustle our opponent.

So if you’ve been waiting to shake off the dust of last year’s tough election and get back into the game, I can’t think of a better, more impactful way to take action than by chipping in and helping me defend this must-win seat.

Because we’re going to be up against a lot next year — and if Democrats want any chance of flipping the House blue, we need to make sure folks know the truth about who I am and what I stand for when they fill out their ballots.
